I’m not saying you should not connect with your co-workers or recruiter, but don’t let them see your connections. It is a simple matter to reset your “Who can see your connections” under “Privacy” setting to “Only you.”
Why should your boss, someone in your HR department, or a recruiter, you just connected with be able to search through your proverbial sock drawer without permission? Lock up your connections. Who you are connected with is your business.
